Happy Halloween!

The spookiest time of the year is almost upon us! Halloween continues to gain in popularity so we should see plenty of little ghosts, ghouls, vampires and monsters running about throughout Queensland.

This year, there is a fun safety video which will be released on October 31 with Queensland Police key safety messaging.

They have another post planned with photos of QPS Halloween events from around the State, so are looking for suitably spooky photos!

They also have posters, available for download here:

There is one poster for those who want to participate in Halloween and one poster (two versions, in black-and-white and in colour) for those who would rather avoid all the spookiness.

QPS key safety messaging this year is:

  • Even scary monsters should be accompanied by an adult.
  • Do your trick or treating before dark (and before all the lollies are gone!)
  • Trick or treating is the most fun (and safe!) in a group.
  • Never enter a stranger’s home; even if you’re a vampire and you’ve been invited in.
  • Wear bright colours so you can be seen as you’re crossing the road to get to that next house!
  • Walk (or shamble, creep, lurch, slither) and don’t run.
  • Keep to the footpaths and don’t walk on the road.

Remember, if you do have any spooky photos, please send them through to MediaProjects@police.qld.gov.au for possible inclusion in their social media platforms.
