QPWS Planned Burn

NEW UPDATE: Due to strong forecast winds overnight the planned burn postponed until Sunday night, 16 June.

The Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service (QPWS) have advised that they are planning on completing a 20ha planned burn at Noosa National Park, Emu Mountain Section, on Wednesday 12 June 2024.  This will be subject to suitable weather and other conditions.

To minimise the impact on major arterial roads, the adjoining high school and the surrounding community, ignition time is scheduled at 6pm, with QPWS crews in the relevant areas from 5pm.

The burn block is located south of Coolum State High School and adjacent to Sunshine Motorway.  Crews and traffic control will be in place until it is deemed safe.

If you have any enquiries, please direct them to the Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service.
